Last Week of Summer

We spent almost all week (after Owen went to bed) painting his new room. We figure he'll be in a twin bed by his 2nd birthday, and furniture & artwork are not cheap. So we wanted to go ahead and get started. We've got six months or so to finish it up. But the paint looks great, if I do say so myself. It's going to be an outer space room, and Erik plans on painting a solar system on canvas for him. I'm really excited about it all! We went to the river in San Marcos this weekend. We had a picnic, played in the park, and splashed in the water. I've got one more week with Owen before I go back to school and he heads back to daycare. We're going to lunch with grandma Monday, hanging out with cousins & grandpa Tuesday, having lunch with Erik & Sherry Wednesday, and I've got a meeting Thursday. Then we're going to shcool Friday to work on my room. So we're not really going to have a relaxing last week together. But hopefully we'll have some fun! We went down from two naps to one this weekend (that's what he'll have to do at daycare). And Saturday morning we gave up the pacifier cold turkey. Two days down, and we've had no major issues. But naps are MUCH harder. He cries for a while before he wears himself out and falls asleep. Also, he seems to be starting this terrible two business a little early (not even 16 months). He throws a tantrum over just about everything. He wants to feed himself with the fork/spoon, but he manages to get more food on the floor than in his mouth. He wants to go outside all the time, and we just can't do that in 105 degree weather. He wants to walk, but when you put him down, he cries and wants to be picked up. Argh... since he started early, does that mean it will be over early??? Please tell me it will be so!
