Owen's First Ice Cream Cone

After Owen's chest x-ray yesterday (which did not go well once the technician touched him), we decided he deserved a break. He's had ice cream before, but always via spoon handled by one of us. But this was his first ice cream cone he got to hold and eat all by himself. He was a little intimidated at first, but he got the hang of it pretty quickly and dove right in. (He's also recently learned how to eat a sandwich on his own as well.) We settled on a soft serve vanilla in a cone at Baskin Robbins (I'm not insane & had no desire to get chocolate ice cream stains out of his adorable Gymboree shirt). He really did eat the whole thing on his own and seemed to think the whole experience was scrumptious (the word on the street today on Sesame Street).

We got a call from the doctor yesterday telling us that the first blood test results came back all normal (this was white, red, & platelet counts as well as liver & kidney functions). So now they're checking for infections and other things as well as waiting on the results of the chest x-ray. So far it's good news. Although we still have no idea what is causing this darn fever (up to 101.7 tonight). I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it will just go away and is a direct result of teething. He's pretty happy (when he's not throwing a tantrum). :)
